Why you don't need a diet

"I help frustrated people get the results they want." This is how I described my work to someone. Over the years, I've noticed the tendency is for people to focus on just one thing – like being 'on a diet' for example; and then frustration descends when the inevitable weightloss plateau arrives and they're not sure what to do about it (and frequently end up blaming themselves). And to be clear, it's not just about exercise either. It's about pulling it all together, understanding how bodies work but also understanding how you work. You're a lot more complicated than you think. Congratulations. Armed with this precious knowledge, you'd never need to diet again.  
Why don't you need a meal plan? Because there are other things that are more likely to give success with total health: 
  • Considering why you eat, how you eat, when you eat 
  • Sleeping patterns, and understanding underlying habits, attitudes, and even beliefs (and you might not realise you have these – but you do!) 
  • Finding what works in your life (because let's be honest - children, spouses, dogs, jobs, commitments, and life in general tend to work together to make things complicated!) 
  • An informed and effective approach of getting the results, and then knowing how to maintain them (so you have a nice lifestyle instead of a diet yo-yo!) 
As I said, you're beautifully complicated, and when you understand how you work, you can improve your health more easily, boost your confidence, and take charge of what really baffles a lot of people.
