In such people it can cause bloating, flatulence, irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux, headaches, fatigue and skin eruptions among other symptoms. Satiety is important as it affects how frequently and how much you eat. Understanding satiety and the satiety levels offered by different foods will help you reach and maintain a healthy body shape. If we don't understand satiety and just try to restrict our food intake, we'll find that we spend much of the time being hungry - and life should be better than that! By gaining a better understanding of satiety we will be able to eat in such a way that hunger between meals is reduced - and we won't be tempted to go for an off-piste snack! by Angela Reed-Fox ![]() Christmas is gone, spring seems a long way ahead - but enjoy the month's offerings. Surprisingly there's a lot of seasonal food available at this time of year. January is also a great month to enjoy fruit crumbles. You'll be seeing Bramley apples, rhubarb and pears this month - try adding a small amount of fresh ginger, dark chocolate, or even chilli to add a surprising tang. *Produce is sorted into 'fruit' and 'vegetable' by how we tend to eat them, rather than the technical fruit/vegetable division. |
